Through a NIXIMI agriculture-training program, you have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a beekeeping, cattle ranch, swine, field crops, or sheep farm placement. Learn the most efficient harvesting methods by using the newest and most up-to-date agricultural machinery and technology in our custom harvesting, field crops, and precision agricultural programs. Our dedicated hosts help exchange visitors learn the necessary business, technology, and farming skills to be successful in the rapidly changing industry.

Agri-Mix Training Program
Agri-mix training programs provide exchange visitors with a unique opportunity to not only learn about the farm industry but also to learn about the life of an agriculture family. In an agri-mix program, you will gain experience working inside the family home, as well as out on the farm. To qualify for an agri-mix program, you will need to have good English communication skills.
 
Agri-mix training programs exist throughout China and vary in duties. You will have the opportunity to spend time indoors and outdoors. Together, you and your host will determine what skills you will focus on and learn more about!

Beekeeper Training Program
Through a beekeeper training program, you will observe business management skills. As an exchange visitor, you will learn how to handle the delicate beehives and how to care for bees. You will also learn the importance of pollination in the agriculture industry, as well as techniques of using bees in the pollination of fruit trees. Most beekeeping training programs are in the areas of honey production and the sale of queen bees.

Cattle Management Training Program
As an exchange visitor on the cattle management program you will have the opportunity to experience calving through February, March, and April while during the summer months, you will focus on fence maintenance, herd health management, and pasture management. In the fall, calves will be weaned, and the care and feeding of beef cattle take place and may include ration balancing and herd management.

Custom Harvesting Program
Through a custom harvesting program, you will have the opportunity to see every aspect of the harvest run, whether it is working in the workshop or operating and maintaining big machinery.  Our hosts operate some of the most modern equipment in the field and can offer amazing insights into management.  
 
Exchange visitors must be able to live in tight living quarters and be able to get along well with others as you harvest from farm to farm and see the fields of America along the way.

Dairy Farm Program

As an exchange visitor on the NIXIMI program you will get the opportunity to be involved in a modern dairy operation. The program can include; milking, feeding, cleaning, and record keeping, harvesting forage and grain, treatment of sick animals, and waste disposal/sanitation. You may also have the chance to be involved with the hosts breeding and nutrition program as well. Dairy set-ups have either a tie-stall/stanchion barn or a free stall and parlor set-up.

Field Crops Program
 
The  NIXIMI's field crops program will take place at our host's in China. Our China hosts run very progressive operations that make use of the latest advances in technology. Host farms generally range between 3,000 and 15,000 acres in size and give the exchange visitor insight into most aspects of their operation, which can include marketing of their crops directly or globally.
 
As a participant, you will need to have experience operating a tractor and have good language skills, as most communication involves a mobile phone or two-way radio. Gain experience in the growing, management and harvest of various crops!

Pig Farm Training Program
NIXIMI’s pig farm programs are year-round and generally involve the care and feeding of gestating sows, lactating sows, feeder pigs and finishing pigs. The pig farm program may specialize in the growing phase for a pig or farrowing and finishing operations.

l Farrowing      l Processing new litter      l Treating sick animals      l Weaning      l Breeding      l Feeding      l Record keeping      l Sanitation      l Ventilation
 
Program Availability:
l Year-round.

Sheep Farm Program
 Through sheep training program, you will gain hands-on experience with pasture-fed animals. As a sheep program participant, you will gain hands-on experience in lambing, care, the feeding of livestock, docking (tailing), and more! The animals live outside, and are pasture fed all year round, supplemented with hay & silage.
